TURBULAIRE® DUST SCRUBBER:

Low energy and low maintenance de-dusting of flue gases

Capturing sub-micron particles with minimal downtime and maintenance

Using liquid to collect dust particles, the TURBULAIRE® scrubber combines low energy variable venturi throat and high velocity gas impaction on the liquid surface.

The combination results in high efficiency dust scrubbing with a minimal amount of energy. In order to cope with changing conditions or stricter regulations, the dust scrubber has been designed with an adjustable pressure drop using variable slide plates forming the venturi throat.

The TURBULAIRE® scrubber consists of a vertical cylindrical shell with conical top and conical hopper at the lower end. It is divided into two chambers:

  • The agglomeration chamber with humidifying section
  • The eliminator chamber with swirl vane demister

The dust loaded gases enter the agglomeraton chamber through a peripheral nozzle and are then accelerated. They impinge on the liquid surface at high velocity creating an intense contact between gas/dust and liquid. The dust is easily separated from the gas stream due to the increased particle size (occlusion and enveloping of dust particles by the created moisture). The dense spray obtained is removed from the gas by a swirl vane primary demister

The TURBULAIRE® scrubber can be equipped if necessary with a final demister KIMRE™ WATMESH® mist eliminator, a sub-cooling section or an absorption section.

The TURBULAIRE® scrubber is designed to avoid plugging and can be made of any kind of corrosion-resistant materials : Carbon steel, stainless steel, plastic, glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) according to specific construction coeds TUV, ASME, DIN,..
