Industrial Dust Removal
Removal of dust particles from industrial gases
Preventing air pollution risks from finest dust particles
Dust is a collection of microscopic particles of material, light enough to be carried by the wind. Fine dusts and airborne particulates from industrial emissions pose health and safety risks to personnel, degrade or damage equipment or the surrounding environment.
Our innovative and high-performance solutions remove coarse and fine particles from air streams while safeguarding the health of operators and optimizing the CAPEX and OPEX matrix.
Industrial dust removal processes
Particulates can have different chemical compositions depending on their origin. They are generally composed of:
- Salts (nitrates, sulfates, carbonates…)
- Organic carbon
- Trace elements such as heavy metals
- Black carbon (linked to incomplete combustion of fossil fuels and biomass)
Dust particle size varies from coarse particulates to sub-micron particles. One of the most common process utilized to remove the dust from a gaseous flow is by washing with a water solution. Wet scrubbing technologies are implemented to transfer dust particles from air to water. To maintain treatment it is necessary to purge contaminated water from the process and replace with clean water.
Technologies utilized differ depending on the requirement for contact between gas and liquid, or for stripping of compounds.

Wet dust removal technologies
One of the most common process utilized to remove industrial dust from a gaseous flow is by washing with a water solution. Wet scrubbing technologies are implemented to transfer dust particles from air to water. To maintain treatment it is necessary to purge contaminated water from the process and replace with clean water.
Technologies utilized differ depending on the requirement for contact between gas and liquid, or for stripping of compounds. Socrematic has developed several innovative solutions, based on particle size, dust nature and composition as well as dust concentration.
WATSPRAY®: Socrematic proprietary cross-flow spray scrubber technology.
TURBULAIRE®: high efficiency dust scrubber with variable venturi, adjustable to pressure drops and with minimal energy use
DynaWave®: equipped with multiple reverse jets, designed for handling dirty hot gasses, an excellent fit for complying with stringent regulation
Reither®: High efficiency, variable venturi wet scrubber for separation of sub-micron level particles
